Holding On (Colorado High Country #6) —
The Colorado High Country series returns with Conrad and Kenzie's story.

A hero barely holding on…

Harrison Conrad returned to Scarlet Springs from Nepal, the sole survivor of a freak accident on Mt. Everest. Shattered and grieving for his friends, he vows never to climb again and retreats into a bottle of whiskey—until Kenzie Morgan shows up at his door with a tiny puppy asking for his help. He’s the last person in the world she should ask to foster this little furball. He’s barely capable of managing his own life right now, let alone caring for a helpless, adorable, fluffy puppy. But Conrad has always had a thing for Kenzie with her bright smile and sweet curves. One look into her pleading blue eyes, and he can’t say no.

The woman who won’t let him fall…

Kenzie Morgan’s life went to the dogs years ago. A successful search dog trainer and kennel owner, she gets her fill of adventure volunteering for the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. The only thing missing from her busy life is love. It’s not easy finding Mr. Right in a small mountain town, especially when she’s unwilling to date climbers. She long ago swore never again to fall for a guy who might one day leave her for a rock. When Conrad returns from a climbing trip haunted by the catastrophe that killed his best friend, Kenzie can see he’s hurting and wants to help. She just might have the perfect way to bring him back to the world of the living. But friendship quickly turns into something more—and now she’s risking her heart to heal his.

In ebook and soon in print!

Paging Marc and Sophie...

Wubbit, my bunny BFF, mistress and love toy of the Easter Bunny

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate Easter. I hope those of you who celebrate Passover had a good week with your families and that someone found the Affikoman so mice don't get it. For those who celebrate Beltaine, a few weeks to go... Whatever your Rite of Spring might be, maybe it be blessed and happy.

For me it will be Another Writing Day.

See, this is exactly what I hate about being a full-time journalist and a full-time novelist. I get close to my characters, make some progress on my story, then it's Sunday night and time for bed. Then Monday morning comes with a laundry list of problems and things to do.

What size paper this week? How big is ROP? What's the lead story? Got cover art? What's in news? Get letters to the editor (that would be me) edited and in. Make sure the intern has something to do. Deal with myriad strange phone calls and letters and emails by the hundreds. This meeting. That meeting.

And, well, pretty soon Marc and Sophie have left me behind and gone off on some honeymoon somewhere without me. I sit down on Saturday morning, brain tired from the work week, and try to put the newspaper aside so that I can create words for the page. But without Marc and Sophie hanging in my head, it's hard.

I think authors who are able to write full-time have such a huge advantage, and I wonder if my books would be better if I were able to concentrate. I know I'd have a lot more of them.

Alas... Some day.

Last night was a treat. I went up to Libby's again to meet her wonderful DH and see what police restraints look like. They weren't what I see on the TV news. No chains, just leather. (Sounds kinky, no?) Libby is a darling, of course, very pretty and sweet. Her kids are adorable, absolutely cute as buttons, both of them. It was hard not to scoop them up and smooch them. I had a beer and got really relaxed, which is different for me. Makes me think I need to drink more booze.

Thanks, Libby, dear!

OK, so now I need to conjure Marc and Sophie back from the ether. (Yes, Kat, I have smudged my silly self.)

Enough whining and back to work.

Happy Easter to you too! Take time tomorrow to enjoy a few minutes of the day. I know what you mean about having to switch gears, drop something to do something else and when you come back to it, you almost have to start over.

I bet Libby is a sweetheart. Aren't you Libby? I love kids, so it wouldn't have been hard to kiss them up.

I know what you mean about the beer. When I drink anything, I get so relaxed that I could ooze out of a chair and into the floor in a contented puddle. My DH says I am too uptight and need to drink more. I must have been an drunk in a past life since I have such a hard time drinking any liquor or maybe in a past life I was way out of control.

Heres lots of writing vibes coming your way.

Happy Easter to you as well! (And Wubbit is sooo sweet! Sammy, my 3 year old, is in love.) I actually need to get my rear in gear and start making our dinner now. Scott (my wonderful DH) works tomorrow night, so asked if we could do the big meal tonight and just left overs, etc tomorrow. Works for me. :)
I'm so glad you were able to meet up with Libby again, this time to check out the restraints. And they DO sound kinky. hmmm... There is nothing like getting together with friends. I met up with a friend & her family from out of town last night and am still smiling about it. Everyone needs people who understand and support them in their lives. And good for you for having a beer. You need to have a few more to pick up the slack I've been making while not being able to drink these past few months. (Gosh that sounds terrible. LOL)
I've told you before, and I'll mention again that I think you're amazing for being able to juggle as many responsibilities as you do. It's a wonderful talent.
Lots of writing vibes coming at ya!
(((hugs)))

A Happy and Blessed Season to everyone!
Nothing much happening here. This is the first year I didn't put baskets together. The day just creeped up on me before I knew it. So, I picked up something special for each of my girls. We don't need all of that candy anyway.

Pamela - I just wanted to mention I just read the post from the other day about Kat and Ray. It was beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. Everyone should be so blessed with friends like that. :)

And I to wish you could write full-time. Just think how much quicker we would get your books! LOL But I'm patient and happy to take them as they come. ;)

Aww, hon, that's gotta be tough juggling both lives you have going! I can't imaging going in one gear all week at the paper and then trying to sit down and write on the weekend. Take care of you, sister! Glad you had a great time with Libby. She seems like an absolute joy to be around! Hope you have a good week, sweetie!!

BTW, it was great chatting with you tonight, Pamela! Take care sweetie and keep smiling!

Pamela, I'm so happy you got to take a break and come over! Do it often!!!

I have to say I was surprised about the restraints too, so that makes two of us. That shows you just how exciting we are, doesn't it? ;) I thoroughly enjoyed the shim demo, and I'm just so glad you didn't have any bloody mishaps this time around LOL. The beer had me in my Zone too, and I'll second the booze increase :)

The thing about my kids is that they are so darn kissable, but they think they're too cool for me to smooch on them all the time so I have to chase them down. They think I'll get tired of it. I don't give up that easily.

Happy Monday! Just keep kicking ass and taking names like always.
