Holding On (Colorado High Country #6) —
The Colorado High Country series returns with Conrad and Kenzie's story.

A hero barely holding on…

Harrison Conrad returned to Scarlet Springs from Nepal, the sole survivor of a freak accident on Mt. Everest. Shattered and grieving for his friends, he vows never to climb again and retreats into a bottle of whiskey—until Kenzie Morgan shows up at his door with a tiny puppy asking for his help. He’s the last person in the world she should ask to foster this little furball. He’s barely capable of managing his own life right now, let alone caring for a helpless, adorable, fluffy puppy. But Conrad has always had a thing for Kenzie with her bright smile and sweet curves. One look into her pleading blue eyes, and he can’t say no.

The woman who won’t let him fall…

Kenzie Morgan’s life went to the dogs years ago. A successful search dog trainer and kennel owner, she gets her fill of adventure volunteering for the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. The only thing missing from her busy life is love. It’s not easy finding Mr. Right in a small mountain town, especially when she’s unwilling to date climbers. She long ago swore never again to fall for a guy who might one day leave her for a rock. When Conrad returns from a climbing trip haunted by the catastrophe that killed his best friend, Kenzie can see he’s hurting and wants to help. She just might have the perfect way to bring him back to the world of the living. But friendship quickly turns into something more—and now she’s risking her heart to heal his.

In ebook and soon in print!

Your favorite scene

We got our first snow this morning — big, fat wet flakes that drifted slowly to the grass. I'm sure the high country is buried under several inches or more. When the clouds lift tomorrow, I'll be looking at snow-capped Rockies running from as far north as I can see all the way to the southern horizon.

Gotta love Colorado.

I'm sitting in front of my fire writing — or trying to write. I think Morgan and Amalie are aggravated with me, and I dinnae blame them. I'm irritated with me, too.

So I thought I'd turn to you for inspiration. Yes, you, my friends.

Please, if you would be so kind:

1. Share with me your favorite scene from one of my books. (If you have multiples, you can list more than one.)

2. Why it is your favorite scene?

3. If you got to spend the night making hot, sweet love with one of my heroes, who would it be?

OK, back to Upstate NY, ca. 1730, where Amalie has the key and is going to unlock Morgan's shackles — sort of....

Gosh! The one that won't leave my mind is the shower scene in Hard Evidence. I try so hard to conger up the others but that one was sooooo steamy it is clouding my brain.... Let me refresh my memory and scan all the historicals to see where my favs are and post again tomorrow. ADH MOR ORT! (Gael. for Good Luck!)

Ok I really liked it when Iain stole the French Priest, that cracked me up. It was bold and sweet at the same time He really just wanted to marry Annie. How could anyone not love the lengths he would go to to make it happen. "Forgi'e me, Father, for I am about to sin." (To Funny!)

So for your third question, it would have to be Iain all the way. A man who cares that much is something special. I wouldn't mind a man like that sweating over me, making me happy every night for hours upon end.

Julian in the shower. End of Story.

You ask why? Don't be daft! Because I WANT to be her and have HIM doing that to me of course!!!

Um, I need to go and cool off for a bit, just thinking about that has got me all hot and bothered...

I told you what happened to me at the airport leaving Las Vegas when I read that, didn't I?
Can we squeal "So Embarrassing!!"

Don't think that commuter will forget this little black duck in a hurry. *blush*

You are a talented, amazing woman and might just be a little too horny for your own good....
But, you know what they say about the pot and the kettle!

Take care and TTYS, I hope.
Hugs for B. J xx

I gotta go with the shower scene in Hard Evidence. And in the historical catagory...The shaving scene in Surrender. Why? Because they were so damn hot and made me want more. I will also add the cabin scenes with Reese!

I will take Alec, Jamie, Nicholas, Iain, Reese, & Julian. You may as well throw in Morgan and that new guy, Marc, too - I know that these new guys will not dissapoint.

Sorry that you are having a difficult time with the writing now. One thing that I always enjoy about your books is that each chapter leaves me wanting to keep reading. Your books are hard to put down.

ooo...one of my favs is when Cassie decides to "punish" Alec. ;) oo la la! So fun.

Favorite scenes, well duh, any/all of them with my Julian *EG* The closet, the shower, the FLOOR *swoon* He is so hot, and SO alpha I'd do him anyplace, anytime!

The woods with Reece & Kara, that scene was so elemental.
Or the scene on the couch, he has such a sexy way about him :-P

Oh, and musn't forget about the Jag & Marc... Nothing like manpower on top of horsepower *EG*

Which hero, you KNOW which hero!

Do I have to pick? I loved them all. *sigh* I really can't choose. I think I might like Marc the best; just the anticipation of his story....

Sorry so late commenting. Couldn't decide, so I won't! I love all the men and all the "scenes":).

Interesting! So the big winner in this informal, non-scientific poll is the shower scene in Hard Evidence. Hmmm...

Christi, thanks for the good luck wishes. I hope you found some other pleasing, steamy scenes.

Cheryle, I'm so glad you mentioned that particular line because I laughed out loud when I wrote it. It was an "Iain moment" that was in my head from the very beginning of writing the story.

J, darling, I thought you might say Julian in the shower, because I remembered how you rather embarrassed yourself reacting to it in public. Which endears you to me very much, I must say. And, yes, I am no doubt a bit too horny for my own good, but as you say... Pot & kettle.

SueZAY, you are a woman who knows what she wants, and she wants it all! Shower and shaving, cabins and who knows what else with the whole hero gang. That is my fantasy, too. YUM.

Ronlyn, you opt for a bit of bondage with shackles and role-playing. That was so fun to write, I must confess.

Aimee, I knew what you were going to say: Julian anytime, anywhere. LMAO! And since he's yours, why not?

DebbieD, thanks so much for your expression of faith in me by choosing a hero you haven't met yet!. OK, so you've sort of met him. LOL!

DebbieH, you should just be greedy like SueZ and pick them all. :-)

As for me, I want a big menage with all of my heroes, but I also want them in pairs. Alec and Iain. Nicholas and Julian. Julian and Marc. Marc and Morgan.

Okay, gotta stop. Starting to perspire.

XOXOXOXO,
P.

Julian and Marc would be the ultimate m/f/m, but I fear someone might die LOL But WHAT a way to go!*wipes brow*

OH! I almost forgot,
Please tell Jones to keep her grubby Ozzie paws away from my Julian! *sticks tongue out at J*

*snort*

I need more Marc to be able to dinfintively answer the other question. ;)

I'll add too, that while I LOVED the shower scene...it's not my personal fav because water play is difficult due to my [lack of] height. You have to be lifted and braced against things, and you're slippery...and, well, it's hard to explain to the ER Dr. exactly how you slipped and hit *that* part of your anatomy on that part of the shower. *blushes* Sadly, I speak from experience.

I like Hard Evidence. I'm a sucker for a tortured man, so my favorite scene is in the bedroom after the 'rape'. She heals him.

Love your books! Thanks for sharing.

How did I know you were going to say that, Aimee? LOL! As for a Marc/Julian m/f/m, I think it would probably kill me, but, yes, I'll give it a try. What a way to go!

Ronlyn, this shower-sex catastrophe of yours sounds like something I need to hear more about. LOL!

Sugar Britches, thanks so much for stopping by! I'm so glad you enjoyed Hard Evidence, and thank you for mentioning that scene, because that's one of my own personal favorites. I love a strong, tortured hero who breaks. I really loved that scene. :-)

oh dear. LOL...where to start?
Well, it was back when DH & I were early in our relationship, so we (or I at least) was still working hard to impress and look good while doing everything we were doing. oy. So, we'd had a fun day (day after Thanksgiving) where we'd been with my cousins and played backyard football and just had an all around good time.
When it came time for cleaning up we decided to help each other out. After a bit of waterplay he boosted me up to stand on the edge of the tub...but I was slippery from the soap and the water and started to slide off, so grabbed the shower rod to stabalize myself (yeah, brilliant I know.) Well, Scott had just made it to his knees when the shower rod came off in my hand, catapolting me towards him. We collided with me smacking my head against the opposite wall, kneeing him in the eye then being flung backwards and scraping myself on the faucet.
ouch.
So, we laid there a tangled mass for a few seconds before I hear Scott give a gusty sigh and say, "Well, was it good for you? I saw stars." I started giggling helplessly and managed to slip again while we were trying to help each other up and gashed my forehead on the showerrod...which was much worse for wear.
So, the forehead gash was what landed us in the ER. Both with soaking wet hair, he with a budding black eye and a stiff neck, me with a cut forehead, a goose-egg and strapes all along my backside...both of us giggling helplessly at the entire situation. So much for looking cool around each other. ;-)

Ronlyn, that's hilarious!!! And really romantic, too. If you ever write romance, you need to put it in a book. (Or give me permission!)

And I think Scott deserves total alpha hero status for that quick-thinking, very sexy line: "Was it good for you? I saw stars."

He's a keeper. :-)

Thanks for sharing.

Anyone else have any erotic accidents to share?
