Holding On (Colorado High Country #6) —
The Colorado High Country series returns with Conrad and Kenzie's story.

A hero barely holding on…

Harrison Conrad returned to Scarlet Springs from Nepal, the sole survivor of a freak accident on Mt. Everest. Shattered and grieving for his friends, he vows never to climb again and retreats into a bottle of whiskey—until Kenzie Morgan shows up at his door with a tiny puppy asking for his help. He’s the last person in the world she should ask to foster this little furball. He’s barely capable of managing his own life right now, let alone caring for a helpless, adorable, fluffy puppy. But Conrad has always had a thing for Kenzie with her bright smile and sweet curves. One look into her pleading blue eyes, and he can’t say no.

The woman who won’t let him fall…

Kenzie Morgan’s life went to the dogs years ago. A successful search dog trainer and kennel owner, she gets her fill of adventure volunteering for the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. The only thing missing from her busy life is love. It’s not easy finding Mr. Right in a small mountain town, especially when she’s unwilling to date climbers. She long ago swore never again to fall for a guy who might one day leave her for a rock. When Conrad returns from a climbing trip haunted by the catastrophe that killed his best friend, Kenzie can see he’s hurting and wants to help. She just might have the perfect way to bring him back to the world of the living. But friendship quickly turns into something more—and now she’s risking her heart to heal his.

In ebook and soon in print!

Leap Day Giveway!

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me!

Yes, it is February 29 — my real birthday. As you can tell, I am not shy about celebrating my birthday when I actually have one. Today, I turn 12. And to help me celebrate, I brought along some author friends. Together, we’ll be giving away seven books to seven winners.

Joining us today for a Leap Day Giveaway are Julie James, Joan Swan, Marie Force, Bella Andre, and Joyce Lamb. In a moment, I’ll introduce them and tell you what each of them is giving away. But first, here’s how the Leap Day Giveaway works:

Comment below before 11:59 PM on February 29. Share your memories of your favorite childhood birthday. Be sure to leave your e-mail contact information so that I can reach the winners right away. (Feel free to use words to replace symbols to prevent bots from stealing your info — for example, myaddress at gmail dot com. Your email will only be used to notify you IF you win. No one will save it or use it to spam you.)

Limit one prize per winner.

It’s so simple, a 12-year-old could do it. Which is lucky for me!

Winners will be drawn at random on March 1.

Okay, let’s get the party started. After all, I have waited four long years for this!

In honor of the day, I will be giving away one copy of Surrender and one copy of Untamed. If you haven’t read my MacKinnon’s Rangers series, this is your chance to catch up before Defiant is released on July 3.

I met Julie James when she kicked my butt in last year’s DABWAHA, which she eventually went on to win. Rather than taking a victory lap, she announced to her readers that she was going to read Naked Edge, which she did, also giving away a copy to one of her readers. I knew immediately that Julie was a class act. I devoured her books, which I thoroughly enjoyed. In fact, they were among my favorite reads of 2010. I had the good fortune of meeting her in person at last summer’s RomCon in Denver. I think we had maybe an hour to talk amid interruptions. But it was a good hour.

To help me celebrate Leap Day, Julie is giving away a signed copy of A Lot Like Love, which recently won Best Contemporary Romance in AAR’s annual readers poll — the second year in a row Julie has won that category — and is the second book in her FBI/US Attorney series.

THE FBI WANTS HER COOPERATION.

As the daughter of a billionaire and the owner of the city’s top wine store, Jordan Rhodes is invited to the most exclusive parties in Chicago. But there’s only one party the FBI wants to crash: the charity fundraiser of a famous restaurateur, who also happens to launder money for the mob. In exchange for her brother’s release from prison, Jordan is going to be there—with a date supplied by the Bureau.

AGENT MCCALL JUST WANTS HER.

As the top undercover agent in Chicago, Nick McCall has one rule: never get personal. This “date” with Jordan Rhodes is merely an assignment—one they’re both determined to pull off even if they can’t be together for five minutes before the sarcasm and sparks begin to fly. But when Nick’s investigation is compromised, he and Jordan have no choice but to pretend they’re a couple, and what starts out as a simple assignment begins to feel a lot like something more. . .

For an excerpt from A Lot Like Love, click here.

Marie Force and I met through our readers. We seem to share a lot of readers, and they were very insistent that we should get to know one another, which we did. We’re both journalists who write romance, so, yes, we did need to meet. I found Marie to be funny, caring, smart — and a very talented writer. I downloaded several of her books in one big gulp onto my Kindle and started reading with Love at First Flight. I was impressed with the emotional realism she brought to the story and the freshness of her voice. Marie was so incredibly helpful when I decided to start self-publishing some of my work as ebooks. I can’t thank her enough for getting me started down that path.

In honor of Leap Day, Marie is giving away a copy of Maid for Love, Book 1 in her McCarthy series.

Maddie Chester is determined to leave her hometown of Gansett Island, a place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly rumors. Then she’s knocked off her bike on the way to her housekeeping job at McCarthy’s Resort Hotel by Gansett’s “favorite son,” Mac McCarthy. He’s back in town to help his father with preparations to sell the family resort and has no intention of staying long. When Mac accidentally sends Maddie flying over the handlebars, badly injuring her, he moves in to nurse her back to health and help care for her young son. He soon realizes his plans for a hit-and-run visit to the island are in serious jeopardy, and he just may be “maid” for love.

Reading Book 1 in the McCarthys of Gansett Island Series will get you ready for the next four books in the series! Hoping for Love, Book 5, will be out in March!

Joyce Lamb is another journalist who also writes romance. We met through usual author channels, and that acquaintance turned into a life raft for me after I was fired from my job as editor. I don’t think 24 hours had gone by before Joyce e-mailed me to ask whether I’d like to do author Q & A interviews for USA Today’s Happy Ever After blog. I was deeply touched that she thought of me and accepted the offer. Since then, Joyce has shown herself to be a warm, caring and hilariously funny person. I’m very grateful to her and feel our work together on the HEA blog has been good for romance authors and good for both of us. Most of all, it has been a lot of fun.

Joyce is giving away a copy of her latest romantic suspense, True Shot.

Samantha Trudeau has spent the past ten years using her intense psychic abilities to put bad guys behind bars. She’s always believed she’s one of the good guys, until fellow spy and best friend Zoe reveals a shocking secret about who they've really been working for. When Zoe's gunned down, Sam goes on the run, because now her employer is coming after her. With no one to turn to for help, she flees to the only place she thinks she’ll be safe.

Journalist Mac Hunter has had a rough year. At the insistence of his good friends, sisters Charlie and Alex Trudeau, he’s going to crash at their family cabin for some much-needed rest and relaxation. But when he arrives he’s stunned to find the third Trudeau sister, Sam, wounded and unconscious on the cabin floor. Things go from bizarre to dangerous when men with guns show up.

Now, Sam and Mac are on the run together, trying to outsmart a demented government agent who has sadistic plans for Sam. As the heat builds between them, her past threatens their very survival. This unlikely duo — a man who uses words to fight his battles and a woman who'd rather use a Glock — are in for the fight of their lives. And in their growing partnership, perhaps they'll have a true shot at love.

For an excerpt from True Shot, click here. This book is on my TBR, and I can’t wait to get to it.

Bella Andre was an inspiration for me before she and I traded so much as an e-mail. I’d heard about how she’d set sail on the uncertain waters of self-publishing only to reap wonderful rewards and was impressed both with her courage and her faith in her writing. She and I crossed paths after I decided it was time to self-publish my first two novels, Sweet Release and Carnal Gift. She is the kind of person who is always willing to help other writers.

She is giving away an ebook copy of I Have Eyes Only For You (The Sullivans, #4).

Sophie Sullivan, a librarian in San Francisco, was five years old when she fell head over heels in love with Jake McCann. Twenty years later, she’s convinced the notorious bad boy still sees her as the “nice” Sullivan twin. That is, when he bothers to look at her at all. But when they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it’s long past time to do whatever it takes to make him see her for who she truly is ... the woman who will love him forever.

Jake has always been a magnet for women, especially since his Irish pubs made him extremely wealthy. But the only woman he really wants is the one he can never have. Not only is Sophie his best friend's off-limits younger sister... he can't risk letting her get close enough to discover his deeply hidden secret.

Only, when Sophie appears on his doorstep as Jake’s every fantasy come to life — smart, beautiful, and shockingly sexy — he doesn’t have a prayer of taking his eyes, or his hands, off her. And he can’t stop craving more of her sweet smiles and sinful kisses. Because even though Jake knows loving Sophie isn't the right thing to do ... how can he possibly resist?

For more about Bella Andre and her books, click here.

Joan Swan is as lovely as her name. I met Joan only recently and was thrilled to discover that she and I have a lot of things in common, including some pretty macabre life experiences that influence our romantic suspense novels. Joan’s debut novel, Fever, just hit bookstore shelves. The moment I read the excerpt, I knew we were going to end up having a lot of crossover readers. Allow me to explain.

Her hero is a convicted murderer, and he’s about to break away from prison by taking the heroine hostage. My I-Team fans are now chanting, “Marc! Marc! Marc!” Yes, I think Fever is going to draw readers who like bad boys. If that’s not enough, the cover is scorching. (My son Benjamin, esq. pointed out that the V in Fever is pointing toward the hero’s junk.)

From San Quentin straight to your heart, Teague is going to be making a lot of us run to the bookstore.

Dr. Alyssa Foster will admit to a bad boy fetish…

But when she finds herself face to face with a convicted murderer with a determination for freedom and an eye on her as his get-out-of-jail-free card, Alyssa knows she’s in deep trouble…. Not just because Teague Creek is a prisoner desperate for freedom, but because his every touch makes her desperate for more.

A man with a life sentence has nothing to lose…

Teague Creek has one shot at freedom, but his plan to escape with a hostage develops a fatal flaw: Alyssa. On the run from both the law and deadly undercover operatives who know of his strange abilities, he needs to avoid trouble, but every heated kiss tells him the fire between them could be just as devastating as the flames that changed him forever.

Click here for an excerpt from Fever.

Happy Birthday!!! What a wonderful way to celebrate!

The birthday that stands out in my mind is my 18th...poised on the cusp of becoming an adult. My most imortant gift was an engagement ring from my boyfriend of 4 years. We married about a year and a half later.

Hi Pamela,

First of all, a very happy birthday!

I don't think I have ever had a birthday that particularly stands out because for me, all of them have been great one way or the other. All those who matter to me always go out of their way to make my day special and I believe that is how a birthday should be celebrated.

I would love to get my hands on I Only Have Eyes for You by Bella Andre.

Thank you for this superb giveaway!

Holy crappers! What a way to celebrate your twelfth birthday! ((hugs)) to you and what a wonderful pile of books and authors!

The birthday I remember most is when I was 17. My mama & stepdaddy took me & a few of my friends to eat at a local mexican restaurant. They somehow arranged for the whole restaurant to sing to me. Not just the staff but the customers too. And even though they arranged it while we were all there eating I didn't have a clue what was gonna happen. Also, I remember getting a Baby Alive for one of my early birthdays. Must have been my 4th or 5th one & I loved that baby doll.

My favorite birthday memory is my mums home made spaghetti bolognese and garlic toast. I was allowed to request what ever I wanted for dinner on my birthday and that would always be my pick.

Most memorable birthday for me was when I was 9. That's when I experienced my first kiss from a boy. He was furry, had floppy ears and his tail wagged. His name was Scamp.

It's now officially your birthday according to EST, hope it's a fabulous one! My favorite birthday comes not from a memory, but from a photo of me as a one year old, curly haired, pale blonde sitting on the floor with my hands and feet in my birthday cake. Must have been heavenl!

Oh fun way to celebrate your birthday! Hope it's a great day :)

I love celebrating other people's birthday but never have been a fan of mine so none really stand out all that much. My 21st though my mom, grandmom and granddad all came to town to visit which was great. I had moved 500 some miles away from home and missed them something terrible so that was a pretty fantastic birthday gift! Was kinda weird to have my first legal drink with them but we had a good time :)

My favorite Birthday would have to be my 10th birthday. My father gave me my first camera, which I still have 37 years later, and started me on my journey of photography. It was also the last birthday present I ever received from him as a child. The parents divorced and mom moved us 2000 miles away.

Today is mega special, so you're right about not too shy yo celebrate it. I still remember the DABWAHA event, when your book Naked Edge againts Julie's. So happy a friendship forged between you two!

As for my childhood favorite birthday, mine is when I'm 7 years. Because that the only time my parents celebrated it and do a party to me. After that, the celebration is simple. Just for family only :)

I would say one of my best birthday memories would actually be just last year. It was my 40th and my DH planned a surprise party for me. Now my husband doesn't like to make phone calls so this was an ordeal for him. But with the help of his and my friends he was able to pull it off. It was such a fun time.

Happy birthday! You're now officially a pre-teen and will undoubtedly develop an unhealthy obsession with a certain sparkly vampire :P

I've gotten out of the habit of celebrating my birthday as I've gotten older, but the one that most stands out in my mind is my 16th. I love videogames & arcades (Time Crisis!), but in Hong Kong you had to be 16 to (legally) enter [there had been many a fake "Sorry, I don't speak Chinese" moments in years prior]. So on my 16th birthday, a group of us who had birthdays around the same time went to one of the biggest arcades in Mong Kok and vigourously waved our IDs in the security guard's face, proudly displaying our age and allowing our under-16 friends to sneak by :)

Excellent giveaway to celebrate your birthday!

My favorite childhood birthday memory is my 8th. I had a skate party, complete with disco music and everything since it was in 1979 ;) I had my hair fixed in my "Mork and Mindy" style (meaning I had the sides braided in pigtails with the rest down...don't ask how I equated that with Mork and Mindy, but I did). After skating and eating tons of roller rink food, I ended up sick :) But it was a great day!

I hope your day is great, and don't eat too much cake :)

Happy Birthday Pamela!!!!! Thank you for affording us the opportunity to get the 'presents' even though it's your birthday :)

Growing up I hated my birthday. It falls 5 days after Christmas & 1 day before New Year's Eve so it was always hard to be recognized between all the other events going on. I always got the presents wrapped in Christmas paper that said "Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday" and as a child I hated it. Now, not so much, lol. As long as I'm surrounded by family, friends & good books - I'm a happy girl ♥

Enjoy your day Pamela because you, above all, deserve it!

Happy Birthday, Pamela!

My most memorable childhood birthday was definitely my 6th which was celebrated a few weeks early in July of 1953. My parents threw a huge party for family and church and neighborhood kids of all ages. We wore funny crepe paper hats, played outdoor games and Mom baked my favorite chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. The reason it was early is because I was going to have surgery to remove a large, ugly birthmark on my right knee. Little girls wore only dresses to school back then and my parents wanted it gone before I started school so the kids wouldn't tease me. In that era, before laser, it involved skin grafting and I needed a full leg cast for weeks afterward. My parents bought me a pretty pink "angel dress" to wear to the hospital a few days after the party.

My favorite birthday memory was my 6th. My friends and I had a Dress Up/Beauty Show. My Mother spent hours dressing us us, doing our hair and makeup and then we paraded in front of the camera. Each were convinced we would win. I knew since I was the Birthday girl, I would win. We were all gorgeous. When my parents finally announced a winner.....it was hysterical. Too heartbroken to pick one girl they made my brother dress up and announced him the winner. Best birthday!!!

Hi Pamela!
Great giveaway! I had many wonderful birthdays as a little girl, but the first one I remember was probably my 4th. I had the most beautiful birthday cake ever - a doll that was dressed in the cake! This was WAY before Barbie, but the doll was about that size and I (almost!) couldn't cut into her gorgeous dress....

Happy 12th Birthday!!! :D

This is gonna sound a bit weird, but the birthday I remember most was probably my 7th. My family and I still lived in Beirut at the time. My mom had planned this get together with the entire family to celebrate but the day of, our neighborhood was subject to a handful of car bombs and sniper fire. So, obviously, no one could (nor wanted to) leave their house. The entire building ended up going down to the bomb shelter in our basement when it got too dangerous to stay upstairs. Mom, being Mom, refused to let my birthday pass with only violence as a memory, LOL. She had my Dad run back upstairs with her and grab the food, the cake and decorations and bring them back down. I remember being scared but excited too. We had lanterns running on propane tanks set up, along with candles, blankets and board games all over the place. I remember the glow of the cake candles illuminating my face and my mom looking at me, trying hard to keep smiling. I had all the kids in the building help me blow out the candles. And I remember hugging her afterwards, hoping she knew how much I loved her and how much I appreciated everything she'd always done for us. Perhaps it's not the "best" memory to have for a birthday but it's definitely a special one because of all that it meant. I think I actually may have only had one more party to celebrate my birthday. Since then, it's been a quiet affair between myself, the hubby and kids, LOL.

First off! Happy birthday, Pamela!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite birthday memory was when my family and friends decided to throw a surprise bday party for me when I turned 16. My best friends CANNOT keep secrets from me, so I knew EVERYTHING that was going on as they were sneaking behind my back. Funny this was, my friend actually spilled the secret when I insisted we go home NOW. He said, "but they're not ready!!!!"

*head desk* My acting skills came in handy when they all "surprised" me.

Wow, what a wonderfully fun way to add to your birthday celebration!! And how amazing that you've picked some of my very favorite authors to celebrate with you!! They are all fabulous!

I think my favorite birthday had to be my third. I remember it so vividly. I spent it at my grandparent's house and we had a little party with all the kids in the neighborhood, some of whom were considerably older than three, but they were all sweet kids and happy to join in celebrating. I also remember my grandpa bringing in a little girl sized maplewood table and chairs. I was so excited about that gift, and he had a lovely tea party with me at that table every afternoon for the week we stayed there. My grandpa passed away when I was five, so I don't have very many memories of him, but that is one I truly treasure.

Hope this birthday is a very special one for you, filled with love, happiness, friends and family. Oh...and cake. You can't have too much cake!

Happy 12 yrs old! :) Leap day bdays are special. :)

My favorite bday: I had my first bday party when I was 8 yrs old. I don't think I truly appreciate it until now when I have my own kid and realize how much work there is to plan a bday for a 8 yrs old!

Happy 12th Birthday Pamela! What a great way to celebrate with all your author friends. As for a birthday memory....well one of my favorites was when my parents surprised me with a sleep over with my two best friends who also happened to be twins. They had moved away about six months prior and we hadn't seen each other in that time. Seeing them and having the time to hang out and catch up until all hours of the night made for a great birthday.

My email: cindyford75(AT)gmail(DOT)com

I was about 8 or 9 and since my birthday is Halloween we had a Halloween birthday party. My grandmother surprised us by coming over in a very scary witch costume. I think the party ended with us all going trick or treating in the neighborhood. I always got extra candy as a birthday girl.

And for you I decided that the perfect dream 12th BD would be a slumber party with your friends. No parents there. Boys come over and you all play spin the bottle. There is a lot of kissing going on. You are secretly thrilled that the boy you like touched your boobies.

My 13th birthday was an exciting one for me. I was out shopping with friends, and they asked if I wanted to have a sleepover. I called my mom, and at first she said no! Turns out she was in on the surprise sleepover to birthday party and wanted to make sure I wouldn't get suspicious!

Happy Birthday!!

My favorite birthday was my 13th. It was 1971. I had a pool party with my friends from 8th grade. I got 45's (records) and money. We had a cook out and a couple girls slept over. We had the sleep over outside on my back porch. I remember my parents yelling for us to keep it down! It was great fun and we were all excited about entering high school in the fall. I loved being 13. I thought I was all that and a bag of chips!

Happy birthday, Pamela!

Happy 12th Birthday! Happy Leap Year!

What birthdays stand out in my mind? All my childhood birthdays because I got to celebrate with my belated grandmother and grandfather. They stand out because my two rocks in my life, people who believed and loved me unconditionally are no longer there.

There is one memory: We had an outside birthday party near the creek outside my grandma's house, and then later went to the fair (labor day)

My favorite birthday memory is one at an after-school program. My mother always brought cupcakes or a cake to share with my friends. The program was in the basement of a church with an old upright piano and lots of space for us to get into trouble. I remember the gift I got was the soundtrack to the first Back to the Future movie on cassette tape - yes cassette tape, and I still own it - and she even brought my boombox so we could listen to it. I remember playing musical chairs to Huey Lewis's The Power of Love. I have the best mom!

My favorite birthday memory is when I turned 6. My friend Laramie got me a tape with a son siging "Hey Amanda, its your birthday" every year since then on my birthday my mom calls me at 12:01 am singing that song to me. 22 years later that 12:01 call is starting to work on my last nerve, but its always something that takes me back to remember my childhood!
Hope you have a wonderful birthday!

I'll admit, I don't have one birthday that stands out from any other. I think in my mind I always built my birthday up to magic proportions, but when they actually happened they were a bit of a let down. Here's hoping I can come up with a good memory in the coming years!

Hey there and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :-)
Have a good one!

Is the giveaway international? Hope so :-)!
My favorite b-day memory:
Funny enough....I can't remember which one it was...7 maybe?
My best friend's b-day is only 2 days after mine and my dad took us to see a movie (movie, popcorn, fun...)
There was this guy walking around giving cups, shirts & other stuff (pink, princess-style) to children.
He came over to us (needed info: my bestie is waaaaaay taller than I), gave her this pink glitter shirt and said "For the older one..." - obviously intending to give me mine next/second ("For the little one...".) However, before he could finish my bestie put her arms around me and informed the guy "It's HER birthday and she is older than me!!!!!" I somehow never forgot this moment. The guy apologized and she handed me "her" shirt. By the way: I'm 25 now and she still is my bestie.

EDIT: LOL rereading my comment I had to laugh. It sounds weird. The "guy" was of course an employee at the movie theatre and not randomly hanging around giving out things to kids.

This is a fantastic way to celebrate, Pamela. By the way, I loved your MacKinnon short story. Can't wait for Defiant! Don't enter me for Surrender or Defiant -I have both- but should I be lucky enough to win one of the others, my email is lindaeverett at eastlink dot ca.

By the way Happy Happy Birthday!!!

Well, my most memorable birthday would have to be my 16th birthday. The week before my bday my parents were complaining how tight money was and how I would probably not even get a present. Needless to say I was so bummed. On my bday I came home from soccer practice to a surprise birthday party. All my friends and family were there. Best birthday EVER. :)

Happy birthday Pamela! Hope you have a great day! Awesome giveway. Some of my favorite authors and some that I've been dying to read. :)

My most memorable birthday is my 16th. About 5 months before my birthday, I was a sophomore in high school and had just moved back to FL after two years in TX. Very important time in a girl's young life. I had to leave all my friends and was just devastated. My birthday came and I just didn't care a whole lot except that I was getting my license. My whole family surprised me with an airline ticket to Texas! I got to go to school with them and on a school trip with the band that I was once a part of. It was truly one of the best memories in all of my life. To this day,I'm still friends with many of my Texas people and I go back at least once a year to visit my many friends there. :)

I guess my best birthday was the year that my Dad handed me some cash and told me to get whatever I needed and could invite as many friends to the party for a sleepover. We had a blast stuffing ourselves with junk food and watching scarey movies and just doing all the things 13 year olds do. :)

Happy 12th Birthday to you! My most memorable childhood birthday is the year my parents planned a scavenger/treasure hunt inspired party at my house. All of my friends came and we were broken into teams and had to search for clues to a puzzle map to find the hidden treasure. My dad created all the clues and the maps - it was very special & a lot of fun. Honorable mention goes to the following year that was Olympic inspired with a javelin contest(toothpicks as the javelin) and other various fun games. Thanks for the awesome birthday contest.

Happy actual Birthday, Pamela!! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

I don't really have any memorable birthdays from my childhood because my birthday is 2 days before Christmas, so we usually didn't really do anything for my birthday. I'll tell you about my most memorable birthday instead. :) It was my 29th. My then boyfriend (now husband) threw a party for me and invited all of our friends and family. Unbeknownst to me, he invited everyone so that he could propose in front of them! I have a son from a previous relationship who he asked for my hand! It was so sweet and romantic! It wasn't just that he proposed, the speech he gave while doing brought tears to everyone's eyes (we were both crying) including all of his male friends. I haven't had too many birthday parties, but that one was the BEST by far.

It's your birthday and your giving out the gifts? What a thoughtful twelve year old you are. My students are amazed that you are twelve. We had quite a lively discussion in class today about the good and bad things about being a leap year baby.
Although my last birthday, when I got to spend a girls weekend with some great friends is a definite highlight, most of the memorable birthdays for me are my sons'. I have been going through pictures this week, and have relived many of them.

Happy 12th birthday!! I hope your day is filled with sparkling rainbows and magical unicorns and don’t forget about the sexy men riding those unicorns ;)
My birthday is 2 days after Christmas and my parents have always tried to separate the 2 days to make my day just for me. So my most memorable would probably be my 16th. I had been asking for a 69 Mustang convertible, black with a hood scoop. Such an amazing car for a 16 year old girl. Well, I was opening up my gifts and got to a very small box. I got really excited because it was key size and I thought maybe... just maybe this was my big sweet 16 gift. I opened it up to find a 69 Mustang convertible, “white” with a hood scoop Hot Wheels replica. Oh I was devastated. I cried and everyone laughed. My parents felt bad and took me and a friend of mine to the theater to see Edward Scissorhands. I really did want to see that movie and I was pretty sure I was never really going to get a car like that any way. So over all, it was an ok birthday :)
I think its my fav because even though I didn't get the car I wanted, I did get to go to the movies and see Johnny Depp.

I usually turn to paranormal romance for that kind of excitement but your romantic suspense are better than watching action movies!!

WOW! Happy Birthday! Birthdays are super important to me so I always make sure my kids have a memorable birthday every year. In fact, my daughter turns 7 on March 1st! Now, let's see.....a favorite childhood birthday memory......well, birthdays were hard for me since I have a summer birthday and friends were hard to get ahold of, so I would say my 9th birthday was the best! It was the mid 80's so the hair and clothes were amazing and the music was bumpin'. My parents too my sister and me to Monterey for a weekend and it was an "all about me" weekend. We met up with my aunt and uncle who lived there at the time and we played games, ate cake, opened presents, went to the warf and the museum! It was a great weekend! :)

Thanks so much to everyone who entered my birthday book drawing and participated in our Leap Day party!

I had a wonderful birthday. I went to lunch with an old friend. Then tonight my two sons made dinner and shared a cake with me while watching a few movies. I love spending time with them. A perfect day!
