Holding On (Colorado High Country #6) —
The Colorado High Country series returns with Conrad and Kenzie's story.

A hero barely holding on…

Harrison Conrad returned to Scarlet Springs from Nepal, the sole survivor of a freak accident on Mt. Everest. Shattered and grieving for his friends, he vows never to climb again and retreats into a bottle of whiskey—until Kenzie Morgan shows up at his door with a tiny puppy asking for his help. He’s the last person in the world she should ask to foster this little furball. He’s barely capable of managing his own life right now, let alone caring for a helpless, adorable, fluffy puppy. But Conrad has always had a thing for Kenzie with her bright smile and sweet curves. One look into her pleading blue eyes, and he can’t say no.

The woman who won’t let him fall…

Kenzie Morgan’s life went to the dogs years ago. A successful search dog trainer and kennel owner, she gets her fill of adventure volunteering for the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. The only thing missing from her busy life is love. It’s not easy finding Mr. Right in a small mountain town, especially when she’s unwilling to date climbers. She long ago swore never again to fall for a guy who might one day leave her for a rock. When Conrad returns from a climbing trip haunted by the catastrophe that killed his best friend, Kenzie can see he’s hurting and wants to help. She just might have the perfect way to bring him back to the world of the living. But friendship quickly turns into something more—and now she’s risking her heart to heal his.

In ebook and soon in print!

HARD EVIDENCE is out on Audiobook — Contest!

On Monday, Hard Evidence (I-Team #2) was released on audiobook by Tantor Audio, and I was too busy doing other things to celebrate the moment. So let’s make up for that now!

For readers who are new to the I-Team, Hard Evidence tells the story of undercover FBI operative Julian Darcangelo and Tessa Novak, the reporter who unintentionally comes close to blowing his cover. It’s a gritty book that deals with a difficult topic, one I investigated during my years as an investigative journalist.

Here’s the blurb from the back of the book:

After the murder of a teenage girl, a mysterious man in a black leather jacket was seen lurking near the crime scene. Investigative reporter Tessa Novak has him in her sights as the culprit…

That man was Julian Darcangelo—an undercover FBI agent working with the Denver police. He’s closing in on the trail of a human trafficker and killer. Tessa’s accusations could blow his cover—and he wants her off the investigation.

But just as Tessa has made Julian a target of interest, she is now a target—of the killer. And as they are forced to trust each other, their physical attraction escalates as intensely as the threat from a ruthless murderer who wants to see both of them dead…

Readers familiar with the series know that Julian is a favorite. In fact, he is the only I-Team hero after whom multiple Kindles and iPads have been named. His name is also part of one reader’s tattoo. What makes him so special?

He’s a tortured alpha male, a man with a good heart who has taken a bad childhood, locked down his emotions, and used his knowledge of crime and his skill with fighting as a weapon.

I’ve always had a very soft spot for him. And that soft spot got softer after listening to talented actor and voice artist Kaleo Griffith narrate his lines in a deep, dark, silky voice for 11.5 hours. As one readers said (hi, Pat!), she’d listen to Kaleo narrate the phone book. He could probably make it sound sexy, too.

To celebrate the release of Hard Evidence, I’m giving away THREE copies of Extreme Exposure, the first book in the series.

All you have to do to be entered to win is to comment below AND leave a contact email address so that I can more easily reach winners. This contest will continue through Thanksgiving to Sunday.

I’ll draw winners on Monday morning.

In the meantime, Unlawful Contact is just around the corner with a Dec. 3 release date. I can’t wait to see what Kaleo will do with bad boy Marc Hunter!

This is a test. Pamela if I win, send it to Linda Clarkson, or one of the other girls down under who can't get them.

I've heard it very MAGICAL and can't wait to relive the priceless experience I enjoyed when I read them for the very first time among countless times. I gush every time! =)

Count me in the group who would love to win a copy. I'm an almost audiobook virgin (I know, that's like saying, "a little pregnant."). I've listened to one book, and I had mixed feelings about it. I'm not sure if it was the book (the author's well-known but new to me) or the narrator that didn't quite work for me.

After reading about your conversations with Kaleo and the way everyone has has been so enthusiastic about these audiobooks, I'd love to give them a try. I know I love your books, and I think I'd love his narration.

I remember when I was trying to get Tantor to pick up the rights for this series in audio and they said they weren't right then but would re-evaluate at a later time. I am SO happy Tantor finally wised up and got these produced in audio. Kaleo was a new to me narrator and I wasn't sure how'd I'd like him. It took me a little time in Extreme Exposure and now I'm all in. I think he ranks near the very top reading romance! I just finished listening to Hard Evidence and LOVED it and am really anxious to get my grubby little hands on audio #3! This is a nice lead up to I-Team # 6 this spring. :-D

The only audio books I have listened to are picture books narrated for young children. I'm ready for something more my speed.

I love the I-Team series. This is a series that I can read over and over again. I think I read enough time that I could possibly memorize the first chapter of Extreme Exposure.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving.

I absolutely agree that I'd listen to Kaleo read anything. Maybe I should enlist him to read me all the background papers for my dissertation... that would probably make me able to actually get through some of them, haha.

I know I'm in the <0.01% of the population who isn't a rabid Julian & Marc fangirl, but being almost done listening to the HARD EVIDENCE audiobook, I can honestly say that Kaleo's 'Julian' voice is spot on for the tortured bad boy with a heart of gold. And he does a great job with Tessa's accent too.

After Reece's ultra-sexy voice, I'm stoked for the aural orgasm that will be my other I-Team favourites, Gabe & Zach. Good reason to look forward to December! :-)

[Clearly, I don't need to be entered to win HARD EVIDENCE]

Thought I commented but guess it didn't go thru...
Sooooooo
Would love to listen to Kaleo doing the I-team series, especially Marc!

I've never listened to an audiobook in entirety before, but I'm on board for the I-Team! Which is crazy since I've already read the books. Listening to the soundbites from Kaleo has served as a delicious tease and I'm looking forward to the whole package! (well, I realise the _whole package_ isn't on offer, but if you feel like sending Kaleo my way, who am I to complain?)

And Pamela, I'm so happy for you with this whole audio expansion!
