I started my writing career as a columnist and investigative reporter and eventually became the first woman editor of two different papers. Along the way, my team and I won numerous state and several national awards, including the National Journalism Award for Public Service. In 2011, I was awarded the Keeper of the Flame Lifetime Achievement Award for Journalism. Now I write historical romance and contemporary romantic suspense.

Spring Fever
I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the excerpt and a look at luscious Daniel Bueno. He's a Brazilian model. I wish he were my mattress.
Rosie, Joanie, Kristi, Gaby — Your books are in the mail. Finally! Ro and J, yours should get to Rosie's by Monday. I sent them priority to make sure. I hope you all enjoy the stories. And you have to email me and tell me which parts you liked best (or hated most, if that's the case, lol!).
Today is gorgeous! It's going to hit the 70s today, and that snow from December is finally completely gone. Yesterday was a typical Colorado day. Morning looked good enough. I got dressed — denim skirt, linen top, sandals — then I hit the coffee shop, where I wrote and chatted with Sean. In case you've forgotten who he is, here's a little reminder:
So there I was dressed for spring, when a big bank of clouds rolled over the mountains and it started snowing. I had a lunch set up with my wonderful, beautiful friend Sara and ended up running around town in sandals while it went back and forth between rain and snow. And now today... 70 degrees.
I took yesterday off work and started to read Unlawful Contact from the beginning so I can pick up the emotional threads again and get back into it. I got halfway through what's written and now need to pick up and get done reading so I can write. I don't do this very often, only when I fear I'm in danger of losing my mojo. It takes a lot of time.
Also — ahem — I was up late last night finishing JR Ward's latest. I eat those books up and love them, even though I really do not like paranormals as a rule. But thank GOD there won't be another one for a while. Now that I'm through Tara Janzen's series and JR Ward's series, maybe I can focus on my own writing.

70 degrees sounds delish! I hope your morning/day goes easier than mine has so far. I have a sick kiddo (just a cold, but still) had a minor (ok, not so minor) meltdown this morning due to the cat sleeping on my clothes and my contact being dirty. *rolling my eyes* Then arrive in the office to a snotty voicemail and a yelling patient. Ahhh...the joys of the mental health field. But, now I'm sitting with my chai tea latte (the doughnut is already gone) and chatting with friends. :)
A big hello to Sean (who got my assistant's attention when she came into my office while he was on the screen. LOL) I hope your toes have thawed out from yesterday's sandal wearing adventure. Gotta love the weather in the Rockies. *G*
I seem to be pining for books lately: yours, JR Wards next one (yes, I know LR has only been out for just over a week)...there are more on my list but this is turning out to be quite long so I'll bid you adeu.

I sent Miss T to daycare in a skirt yesterday, and when I walked out the door, it was starting to snow! I still can't understand CO weather, but today is definitely gorgous. Hopefully the rest of the weekend is so nice. I can't wait to pull out the baby pool and my pink lounger so I can read outside.

We have that kind of weather in Oklahoma City in the spring, too. Crazy, huh?
Ahhhhh, yes, Sean. Loverly Sean. And you have the pleasure of chatting with him, you brat! LOLOL. Even though it didn't get that cold here in Vegas, I ditched my closed toes for sandals a couple of weeks ago and my toes froze. But I refused to go back to hiding my toes. They were just begging to be free.
I'll be on the lookout for the books and will let you know when they arrive safe and sound. Thanks again ((((HUGS))))
