Holding On (Colorado High Country #6) —
The Colorado High Country series returns with Conrad and Kenzie's story.
A hero barely holding on…
Harrison Conrad returned to Scarlet Springs from Nepal, the sole survivor of a freak accident on Mt. Everest. Shattered and grieving for his friends, he vows never to climb again and retreats into a bottle of whiskey—until Kenzie Morgan shows up at his door with a tiny puppy asking for his help. He’s the last person in the world she should ask to foster this little furball. He’s barely capable of managing his own life right now, let alone caring for a helpless, adorable, fluffy puppy. But Conrad has always had a thing for Kenzie with her bright smile and sweet curves. One look into her pleading blue eyes, and he can’t say no.
The woman who won’t let him fall…
Kenzie Morgan’s life went to the dogs years ago. A successful search dog trainer and kennel owner, she gets her fill of adventure volunteering for the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. The only thing missing from her busy life is love. It’s not easy finding Mr. Right in a small mountain town, especially when she’s unwilling to date climbers. She long ago swore never again to fall for a guy who might one day leave her for a rock. When Conrad returns from a climbing trip haunted by the catastrophe that killed his best friend, Kenzie can see he’s hurting and wants to help. She just might have the perfect way to bring him back to the world of the living. But friendship quickly turns into something more—and now she’s risking her heart to heal his.

Naked Edge — Here's the cover!
Look at what I just got from my editor at Berkley — the cover for Naked Edge! The colors are showing up a bit funky here, but it's actually a kind of purple. I absolutely love it and think it fits the story — and the series — very well. It's important that it fit the feel of the other books, I think.
What do you think???????????
I am on Chapter 17 out of 30 now — that's more than half-way done. Most of the really hard work — characterization, research, etc. — are done, so I hope that the second half will move much more quickly than the first half. I may be going longer and longer between blog posts as I finish the book because I desperately need to catch up. So please forgive me if these posts sit for a long time!
I'm dying to hear your thoughts.
Also, here's an image I found that would also be great for casting Kat and Gabe — it's Nathan Kamp and some preternaturally beautiful woman.
Have a great day, everyone! It's almost Friday!

I should say that the strange day-glow blob to the right of the couple among the trees is actually a fire. I don't know why blogger is distorting the color, but on the actual .jpg, it looks like a fire. :-)
Love the cover!! I have just finished Extreme Exposure and have the other novels in the I-Team series on my list for my next months order,
Oh, I LOVE pink!!! It looks great!! Nice Nathan pic :D
Hey Pamela, that's funny because I wanted to email you to ask if you had any ideas of what the cover would look like!
I love it. I like the fact that Nature shows in the background. And I had noticed the fire, which does look like a fire to me and not a "glow blob". Though on my screen the cover shows bright pink and not purple.
Tomorrow is Holy Friday (don't even know if that's the way to say it) and it's a holiday here in Alsace. Yay for me living in Alsace! LOL
Have fun tomorrow!

PS No idea who Nathan Kamp is. I'll have to google him.....
Ohhhhh! He is THAT guy...Mmmmm I sure had noticed him before. I just had no idea that he was for real....Is he??? Can I have him for my Bday? Don't even have to wrap him....I nice bow will suffice....
I love the cover, it's so purty.
Nice cover, Pamela. The colors look a bit odd in translation but I'm sure they're reallly fine, and I had no trouble identifying the fire.
Nathan - one of my favorite names, by the way - is scrumptious. And the preternatural gal is, well, preternatural. I'll definitely have to catch up with this series when time and money are a little less scarce.
Oh Pamela I love the cover it's gorgeous! And I think it fits perfectly with the rest of the series they did a great job! :) I so can not wait to read it!!!
Hi, Leontine — I hope you enjoyed Kara and Reece's story and the rest of the series. You'll be all caught up before this one comes out. :-)
Hi, Barbara — Actually, Blogger distorted the color. It's actually a soft lavender color. I don't know why Blogger does that sometimes. I'm going to put it up on Facebook, so you can peek at the real color there.
Hi, Stef — I'm so glad you have a day off. Hurray! It's called "Good Friday" here. Most people don't have the day off. I'm glad you like the cover. Funny that you were about to ask about it. I wasn't expecting to see it for a while, so it totally surprised me when my editor sent it today. Enjoy your day tomorrow! You deserve some time OFF! As for wanting Nathan for your birthday, you'll probably have to ask his wife... (Bummer, I know.)
Hi, Jane — Thanks so much! I really love the color. The real color, not the one that's on my blog. :-)
Hi, Linda — I'm glad you, too, could identify the fire. After I posted, I looked at it and wasn't sure anyone would be able to tell what it was because of the odd colors. I love the name Nathan, too. Sexy and masculine.
Hi, Jenn — Thanks so much. I'm glad you like it. You're the artist, so you would know. ;-) I hope you're doing well. Glad to see you here again.
I absolutely love it!!! The pic of Nathan and the woman are perfect! Gotta get the porch sisters over here to see this. LOL Nathan is a big hit with us.
P.S. If you would like to listen to Nathan's voice, go to:
www.nathanlivestoeat.com
He has his own cooking episodes. My oldest granddaughter (7yrs old) and I play, find Nathan, while we are at the bookstore in the romance section. LOL He has been on many covers and also modeled Hanes underwear (I love working in the mens section at Target)*BEG*
Love the new cover!!! The colors look just fine on my screen. Don't worry if you have to blog less often, an author's gotta do what an author's gotta do. (I've been waiting for 5 years for one of my favorite authors to put out a new book. I'm a faithful mutt! LOL) Hope your writing is smooth sailing from here on out. :o)
Hi, Debbie — I'm so glad you like it. By all means, bring those Porch Sisters over! I can imagine they're very fond of Nathan. I've seen his cooking show -- one episode -- and he and I are "friends" on Facebook. You know, I can see a definite upside to working in the men's underwear department, Debbie. ;-)
Hi, Rita — I actually reloaded the photo and now the colors are showing up more true to the real thing. I'm glad you like it. And thanks for your patience! One of these days I'll master the art of "churning them out." But for now I just can't do that.
Love the cover! Thinking of you lots but wanted to pop in and give my thumbs up!
xoxo

Hi, Ronlyn — I know you're really busy these days, so i really appreciate you popping in. I hope all is well with you, Scott and the boys. Have a Happy Easter! I'm so glad you like the cover. :-)
very ncie cant wiat
love the cover oi love purple
kh
I love the cover and i love the photo too. And that woman is beautiful. I have actually googled nathan Kemp a few weeks ago because I had to see this guy who many romance readers say are fed up of seeing on romance covers. Turns out the few books I read with him on the cover only showed his body and one hell of a body that is :).
If you see his site (and I also read an interview of his) he is married to his childhood sweetheart and seems really in love. Love that.
Looking forward to the book Pamela!! Good luck with the writing.
Hope a historical romance is up next - maybe Connor's story? :)
Pamela - Wanted to tell you I love the cover. I just finished reading the Blakewell/Kenleigh trilogy and really enjoyed all 3 books.
Very nice cover, now I just have to read it! I've only read your historicals so looking forward to it. I'm curious, do you have a lot of say about the cover art or is that out of your hands? I've seen some really bad covers before (not yours!) that did not do the book justice.
Looks good. I recently discovered the I-team series and I'm so hooked. :)
Oooooohhhh - great cover!! I like it - I like it a lot!!
Hi, KH — Kat, is that you or just someone with your initials. Either way, hi! Purple is one of my favorite colors, too. :-)
Hi, Luci — I'm so glad you discovered the man that goes with the incredible body. Yes, he's real. And he seems like a very good person — madly in love with his wife, cooks, etc. I'm actually going to be writing a paranormal (no, not like anything you've read and with some historical touches) next, but Connor's book will be on its heels. Thanks for the good wishes!
Hi, Eugenia — Authors have very little control over their covers. I've had covers that really upset me (the cover of Carnal Gift looks like the Louisiana bayou, not Ireland in winter, and the original cover to Surrender, which included no chest and an entire village of tipis after I specifically said, "No tipis!") but I've been pretty lucky with most. My editor at Penguin just seems to "get" the stories and turns them into art. The ideas for most of the I-Team covers come straight from moments in the stories — Kara and Reece in the hotel; Tessa and Julian in the shower; Sophie and Marc in front of the fireplace after he's cut his hair; and a split image of the inipi bonfire and Kat and Gabe in some undisclosed location for Naked Edge. I'm glad you like it!
Hi, SJ — Welcome! I'm so glad you posted. And I'm doubly delighted that you've enjoyed the I-Team series. I'm working as hard as I can to get the next one out there. Please pop in when you can. :-)
Hi, Kristie, dear! I'm so glad you like it! I have no idea what the back blurb will say. I need to finish the manuscript ASAP! Hope all is well with you!
Yummmm. Nathan is my very fave cover model (as everyone here is well aware). Gorgeous cover for NE! Can't wait for the book!
