- I grew up in Colorado at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, then lived in Denmark and traveled throughout Europe before coming back to Colorado. I have two adult sons, whom I cherish. I started my writing career as a columnist and investigative reporter and eventually became the first woman editor of two different papers. Along the way, my team and I won numerous state and several national awards, including the National Journalism Award for Public Service. In 2011, I was awarded the Keeper of the Flame Lifetime Achievement Award for Journalism. Now I write historical romance and contemporary romantic suspense.

Catching up
The chapel at Ithaca College
Thanks to all of you for your kind words about Wubbit. It's amazing how much a person can miss a beloved pet, isn't it? Both Benjy and I keep setting aside lettuce leaves for her and stopping on our way out the door, thinking, "Did I check the bunny?" Our living room looks very strange without her big bunny chalet. We're just glad she passed peacefully. She deserved that.
Right now I'm working on a ghost-writing project about which I can share nothing. It's an interesting experience to angst about someone else's book for a change. I'll be busy with that through the end of the month, at which time I'll take one last run through Naked Edge and then send it to New York.
Then I'll start my next project, focusing on King Arthur in our time. I hope to work on it at the same time as Connor's story. I don't know if I have the RAM to manage that, but we'll see. I don't want my Rangers to get left behind, but the pressure is on to write romantic suspense.
Benjy leaves for New York tomorrow night. He's a sophomore at Ithaca College, where he studies filmmaking. I hate it when he's gone, but it's important he go to the best school he can for his education. Tuition is due Aug. 17. YIKES! Fortunately, most of his cost of attendance is covered by scholarships this year.
Last Friday, I gave myself my first day off in ages and spent the entire day watching back-to-back episodes of True Blood that I'd purchased from iTunes. I don't have television, so I had no idea what it was until my sister sent me a link to a YouTube clip of the character Erik in the shower. I saw Alexander Skarsgård and fell in love. So I devoured the entire first season, and though I felt guilty for doing nothing that day, it was probably time well spent. Every once in a while, even writers need a break.

Now, about True Blood. I don't like all the blood and the gore, I will admit that. To me, there's absolutely nothing sexy about sex that includes being bitten and having blood dribble all over your neck and mouth. Ew. But the characters are really engaging, and the suspense is solid. And, yes, many of the men are HAWT. So now I have to wait patiently for Season II. Perhaps that will give me time to catch up on The Tudors.

Hey sweets! Believe it or not, SCOTT watches True Blood religiously. He gets a kick out of it. I have a hard time getting past the accents, but I've caught a few episodes.

Hey Pamela! I've always thought I couldn't do the vampire thing, but I may have to give True Blood a look. I know getting past the gore would be tough, but these pictures you're posting are yummy.
I think the alure of vamps is the seduction by them. Supposedly, the blood is much sweeter and richer during orgasm, so they say. LOL I wouldn't know. I haven't had a chance to watch much more than the first episode. I plan on renting it this weekend.
Pamela, so sorry to hear about Wubbit. Sending a hug. Great to hear Naked Edge is on its way to NY. Can't wait to read it. I do love True Blood. I'll admit gore and violence doesn't bother me much on TV or movies. Guess I'm bloodthirsty. :) Bwwahhha. Is it Halloween yet? Anyway, keep on trucking and take care of yourself.

Hi, Barbara — I hope you're feeling better. Erik is the very definition of yummy! I'm not sure how they spell it. I'm using the Swedish spelling, but who knows? I don't need to know how to spell his name to appreciate him.
Hi, Ronlyn — Wow, they really broke the husband mold after they made Scott, didn't they. That's too cool! The accents don't bother me, but the gore makes me gag. So nice to know I've been in your thoughts. Today was a rough day — my first day without Benjy. He made it to Ithaca safely, thank goodness. And now the daily blah routine sets in.

Hi, Denise — So good to see you! Thanks for your good wishes. It's hard to lose a critter you love so much. Part of it is that they're so innocent. They never do anything but love you, you know? As for NAKED EDGE, I haven't actually sent it yet. I'm twiddling. LOL! How's your writing going these days?
