Holding On (Colorado High Country #6) —
The Colorado High Country series returns with Conrad and Kenzie's story.
A hero barely holding on…
Harrison Conrad returned to Scarlet Springs from Nepal, the sole survivor of a freak accident on Mt. Everest. Shattered and grieving for his friends, he vows never to climb again and retreats into a bottle of whiskey—until Kenzie Morgan shows up at his door with a tiny puppy asking for his help. He’s the last person in the world she should ask to foster this little furball. He’s barely capable of managing his own life right now, let alone caring for a helpless, adorable, fluffy puppy. But Conrad has always had a thing for Kenzie with her bright smile and sweet curves. One look into her pleading blue eyes, and he can’t say no.
The woman who won’t let him fall…
Kenzie Morgan’s life went to the dogs years ago. A successful search dog trainer and kennel owner, she gets her fill of adventure volunteering for the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. The only thing missing from her busy life is love. It’s not easy finding Mr. Right in a small mountain town, especially when she’s unwilling to date climbers. She long ago swore never again to fall for a guy who might one day leave her for a rock. When Conrad returns from a climbing trip haunted by the catastrophe that killed his best friend, Kenzie can see he’s hurting and wants to help. She just might have the perfect way to bring him back to the world of the living. But friendship quickly turns into something more—and now she’s risking her heart to heal his.

You've seen Zach. But what about Natalie?
I’m so happy that you’re as excited about Jed Hill being on the cover of Breaking Point as I am. As I sat basking in the shadow of his biceps, I remembered that in this case, I also have a physical model for my heroine, Natalie Benoit. And here she is.
Natalie had her I-Team debut in Unlawful Contact, taking Tessa’s place on the cops and courts beat. She keeps to herself, and we don’t know much more about her other than that she’s from New Orleans and that she lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. In Naked Edge, Kat senses something tragic inside Natalie, but we never get a glimpse of what that is. But in Breaking Point, Natalie’s story, we do.
I’ve posted a couple of excerpts on this blog here, and here and read the back cover blurb here, so you all know how the story starts.
So tell me — do Zach and Natalie make a nice couple? I think they certainly would make beautiful babies. And if they do, you just might have a front row seat. D’oh! Did I just say that?!?
I’m not sure how often I will be updating my blog over the next few weeks. I think I need to take it a bit easier than I’ve been doing. I seem to have a good day and then a bad day. I think the bad days come from doing too much on the good days. So...
In the meantime, however, you’ve got Zach and Natalie.
By the way, Natalie Benoit has a Facebook page, for those of you on FB. (If we’re not friends, hunt me down!) She’s been talking about taking a trip to Mexico...

They will make beautiful babies.
And YOU need to take it easy chica!
Wow. I don't often like the models people choose to represent characters, but all of yours are always so perfect!
Hi, Ronlyn — You are right on both counts. Just waking up at the 11 o'clock hour. Yesterday I felt as close to "good" as I've felt. Today... Not so much. So, the plan is to rest a lot. I could go right back to sleep if I let myself.
Hi, Sonya — I'm a very visual person. I need to see the story to write it. I need to see the people. I almost finished a master's degree in the fine arts department focusing on fine arts history/ancient art but I also paint and draw (when I have time which hasn't been for about 15 years). So maybe that explains it?
Note to womanity: I do not blame you for drooling over him more than her. If you're drooling over her, that's okay with me, too. But heroines do tend to get the brush-off when it comes to romance novels, and I wanted to share both of them with you.
OH MY ...... I may be old enough to be Zack's mother but I think he is drop dead gorgeous. He may just give my Gabe a run for his money. What a great looking couple Zack & Natalie make for sure.
Pamela, take care & rest.
I like your inspiration for Natalie. I can't wait to know more about Natalie's personality and what she had gone through in New Orleans during Katrina.
Wow. They look good together. ;D

ooh she's beautiful! They would certainly make the most beautiful babies!
wow!
They are both perfect for each other.
I wonder if there would be another "I-Team casting couch" for the remaining characters like Joaquin,Holly and even Tom and Syd...that would be fun..:-)
Zach is very nice but I dont know Pamela I have this image in my head of what Julian looks like and I'm afraid I'm ruined for anyone else!
Hope you are on the mend. Take it easy although I bet your sick of hearing that said to you. I'm afaid I dont do illness or injury very well and on good days I over do it too.
Ok, you need to fire Jed's photographer. He cut the picture off way too high.
I'm just sayin'...
;)
Hi, Kay — I know what you mean! I don't know that I'm old enough to be his mother, but I don't really care. LOL! Thanks, I will take care. Resting a lot today.
Hi Jane — I'm so glad someone is interested in the heroine! YAY! She has quite a back story. I hope you come to love her as much as I do.
Hi, Ronna — Long time, no see! Glad you find them snaxy together. Hope you're doing well.
Hi, Luci — Wouldn't they??? Maybe I can introduce them in real life. LOL!
Hi, Irene — What a fun idea! The person I have in mind for Syd is the art director at the paper where I work now. She's a ball of nervous energy like adrenaline turned into a person. I see a young Antonio Banderas when I think of Joaquin. Not sure about the others. Fun idea!
Hi, Di — We'll have to see if Zach can shake Julian loose a bit. I know some of you are very loyal to your heroes, and that's good too. I'm doing my best not to overdo things. The help that I had is kind of fading away, so I have no choice at times but to fend for myself. But I'm getting better.
Hi, UM — Nice to see you here. :-)
You know, I agree. Fire the photographer. Did you see the photo below of him in the shoulder pads and the WET — yes, wet — football leggings (whatever they're called). You can see just a hint of... And that makes you want to fire the photographer AND give him a piece of your mind. (Has to be a him. A woman would have gotten it all.)
"Has to be a him. A woman would have gotten it all."
Amen to that!
Hi Pamela, Natalie is beautiful. And Zach is, well, amazing! Wouldn't their kids be gorgeous? And I'm all for another I-team casting couch! Hope your road to recovery evens out very soon.
Hey Pamela! Yah, it's a long virus-infecting-my-laptop-story. Ugh, don't even want to get into that, but's it's all good now. Plus, we started school last week so it's been pretty busy. I'm doing fine, I hope you're doing well to. I read you had surgery. Hope you're doing well. I can't wait for BREAKING POINT!

P.S. Take care!!
