Holding On (Colorado High Country #6) —
The Colorado High Country series returns with Conrad and Kenzie's story.
A hero barely holding on…
Harrison Conrad returned to Scarlet Springs from Nepal, the sole survivor of a freak accident on Mt. Everest. Shattered and grieving for his friends, he vows never to climb again and retreats into a bottle of whiskey—until Kenzie Morgan shows up at his door with a tiny puppy asking for his help. He’s the last person in the world she should ask to foster this little furball. He’s barely capable of managing his own life right now, let alone caring for a helpless, adorable, fluffy puppy. But Conrad has always had a thing for Kenzie with her bright smile and sweet curves. One look into her pleading blue eyes, and he can’t say no.
The woman who won’t let him fall…
Kenzie Morgan’s life went to the dogs years ago. A successful search dog trainer and kennel owner, she gets her fill of adventure volunteering for the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. The only thing missing from her busy life is love. It’s not easy finding Mr. Right in a small mountain town, especially when she’s unwilling to date climbers. She long ago swore never again to fall for a guy who might one day leave her for a rock. When Conrad returns from a climbing trip haunted by the catastrophe that killed his best friend, Kenzie can see he’s hurting and wants to help. She just might have the perfect way to bring him back to the world of the living. But friendship quickly turns into something more—and now she’s risking her heart to heal his.

I-Team Match the Quote to the Character Game
Time for a bit of fun!
I finally got around to sorting through the zillions of quotes my home team — I love you! — plucked out of the five I-Team novels and have put together a little matching quiz.
All you have to do is match the quote to the character. Easy, right? You all know these characters so well!
Each characters has two quotes. In the case of heroes and heroines, the quotes may or may not be from their own story. I tried to pick quotes that were representative of the characters’ personalities without being too obvious.
Try to see how many you can do in your head without looking in the books. Only turn to the books as the last resort. You can email your answers to me — my email is listed in the info on my Facebook page and many of you already have it — and share your experience by posting here.
Participants will be entered to win the signed book of their choice from me.
Good luck!
1. “Have you ever caught a criminal with ink?”
2. “The word phobia implies there is something wrong with my reaction to spiders — horrid little monsters!”
3. “Maybe the mayor can hire a consultant for hundreds of thousands of dollars to teach the boys in blue the difference between a gun and a cell phone.”
4. “If I wanted to kill you, you'd already be dead.”
5. “Burn a bra if you want, but don't be ridiculous!”
6. “I want a man who really loves me, who will stick by me no matter what, even when he gets bored with me and thinks I’m old and ugly.”
7. “You're just afraid to let yourself feel because feeling hurts so much.”
8. “I just love to start the day with a bit of yelling.”
9. “Sometimes you say the stupidest things, Holly.”
10. “At least if you were plying him for information, get him to spill insider secrets, I could respect it!”
11. “I love you with everything I am. You are the best thing that ever happened to me.”
12. “You should ask Kat whether she found it romantic, because before the rescuing bit came the part where someone nearly killed her—or did you miss that?”
13. “No one is supposed to be okay after witnessing a murder.”
14. “You're a reporter, and that means trying to catch the killers, doesn't it?”
15. “I never could’ve done what you did. I probably would have jumped off the cliff myself just so I didn’t have to be afraid of falling.”
16. “I’m sure there are lots of men who’d do or say anything to get inside her, but I’m not one of them. I don’t want her. I want you.”
17. “If I thought you’d been a coward, I’d tell you to your face.”
18. “Oh, come on, Bradshaw. One beignet won’t make you fat.”
19. “Your wish is our command.”
20. “I’m ashamed to say it, but I tried not to think about what they might be doing to you because I couldn’t stand it.”
21. “That’s just him being a man. Trust me. He’s crazy about you, even if he doesn’t know it yet.”
22. “I want to hear more about Mr. Secret Agent Man.”
23. “The bastard shot him from the upstairs window when the officer was walking up the to the door. Didn’t even warn him.”
24. “There’s still something between us — something strong. You want me as much as I want you.”
25. “Yeah, well, I guess I was in the wrong place at the right time.”
26. “You can’t just look through a reporters files no matter who you are.”
27. “Sometimes the scar isn’t on the outside. Sometimes it’s on the inside where no one else can see it. Believe me, I know.”
28. “Clash of the Titans.”
29. “You haven’t exactly caught me at my best.”
30. “I can’t say how sorry I am to see you here. Not only does it mean bad times for you, it means I’m about to get a call from your asshole boss.”

Oh wow! The home team really pulled out all the stops on this one! This will be a challenge, but a fun one!
Wow,that was TOUGH! I don't think I got more than five right lol! I had to start just taking wild guesses.
Great job on the Questions, they were tough but fun!
hmmm....it's been awhile since we compiled these. I'm not sure I remember who said what. LOL
Great quotes! I'm going to have fun trying to remember who said what :)
I've gotten two sets of answers so far — Landipan’s and Rachel‘s.
I'll leave this up for the next few days and get some writing done in the meantime. :-)
Dangit all. I did terribly, only 11 right! I didn't want to cheat by looking in the books (cuz then what's the point?) so i gave it my best shot from memory and sent my anwers. Afterwards, I looked them up in the books (thanks to easy searching with Kindle4PC) and I'm SO mad at some of the ones I got wrong! Seems a lot of the time i was in the right scene, but chose the wrong speaker. Or had it narrowed down to 2 candidates in my mind, and always chose the wrong one! lol at least I was uaully on the right track. MOSTLY I got the gender of the speaker right :D ~Rach
What I notice most about the quotes is I know who they were said TO before I remember who said them.
Oh Lordy ! My memory recall is normally fantastic but when I have to do a test ?!? Aggghhhhh - going through the questions after work yesterday this is the conversation happening with hubby & daughter ....
Hubby: hey Hun what's for dinner?
Aggie: hey babe am little bit busy at moment, haven't thought about it..
"question 6 - oh that's easy i remember that one .. "
Daughter: mum are we having take-out to-night?
Aggie: no .. no - I'm just doing a test at the moment then I'll organize dinner ..
Hubby & daughter: what test ?
Aggie: damn! I know question 11 - but who?
Again hubby & daughter: what test?
Aggie: pamela's test for the I-team series I've read ... God - question 2 .. Oh yes I remember exactly when that happened!! Yes ! Next one
Daughter: I-team series ? When what happened ?Who' Pamela ?
Hubby: we should leave mum alone as u know how she gets when she's got her head in her books and we interrupt
Aggie: question 30! I don't remember that one... Oh god .. Who ... Where ... Damn .. Damn
Hubby: come on Hun - step away from it for a bit, let's get dinner organised
Aggie: dinner? Dinner? No I have to do this ! I know the answers ! But I can't remember exactly who! Stop with the interruptions so I can think and I'll get them !! Go amuse yourself elsewher !!!
Hubby: the internet is Sooo gone - I'm going to cut it off- walks off laughing
Aggie: DON'T even think about it !!!! U know you're worth more to me dead than alive so you wouldn't dare !!!
Aggie: all they can think about is eating ... Who the hell has time to eat!? Dinner? Dinner? ... Focus aggie, back to the questions !! Question 23? Oh sh$&, SH$& !!
Wow! Those were tough. Fun... but tough. Thanks for the challenge. Sent my answers today, hope you get them... I know I have a few wrong but had fun while doing it
Angie, I think I got your answers, but now I can't find them. Can you resend them? And make them high priority so I can find them.
Since BREAKING POINT came out, my email has gone cuckoo. It's not unusual for me to get 1,200 emails in the course of an afternoon. So stuff gets lost and accidentally deleted.
